He hopes to translate the theoretical knowledge and skills he has learnt from college and university into practice experience that wills support his career progression and long-term ambitions.

He comments: “This apprenticeship gives me the opportunity to translate the theory I’ve learnt into practice, while gaining experience in IT operations within a large business. As well as developing my skills, I’m also looking forward to learning new ones that will support my career progression.”

Mathew Barrett and Joe Millson have joined as Engineering Apprentices and will both be responsible for maintenance and fitting around the factory to keep the machines running, while also supporting and learning from the operations team.

Mathew comments: “This apprenticeship gives me the opportunity to develop a career while also learning skills that will help me in life. It’s not just about engineering and electrics, it’s also about learning to talk to people with confidence and making new friends.”

Joe comments: “I want to use this opportunity to excel myself and to improve my electrical and engineering knowledge to become a qualified tradesman. All the people here are really friendly and welcoming. I am looking forward to the challenge and to working with them to learn new skills.”

Managing Director of CorrBoard, Rob Burgin comments: “We would like to welcome Eph, Mathew and Joseph to CorrBoard. It is a real pleasure to have them as part of our growing team.

“Apprenticeship programs work really well for us as a business, and we have had several people complete their training and secure full-time work with us. There is no doubt that graduates have the skills we need and with the right support can use this opportunity to forge a successful career for themselves.

“We look forward to following their progress and to giving them a chance to put the theory that they have learnt into practice.”
