Decarbonisation Foundations
Normanby Gateway, Lysaghts Way, Scunthorpe DN15 9YGThis workshop will provide the fundamentals of carbon in a business environment, placing it alongside other management issues faced by organisations. These will include assessing materiality to put carbon in context, appropriate standards of evidence and factors to consider in building a business case for net zero.
Stakeholders expect action on carbon and other impacts, alignment with net zero and support for their own ambitions. Establishing sustainability within a business context is key to delivering on these expectations alongside more established financial measures of success.
The workshop will include a detailed review of materiality assessments as a means of establishing the priority of carbon and other environmental factors, followed by an examination of organisational claims on environmental performance and closing with a group materiality exercise.

Applied measurement in Carbon Management
Normanby Gateway, Lysaghts Way, Scunthorpe DN15 9YGThis workshop will take delegates through the steps involved in conducting a representative product carbon foot-printing exercise. Building on concepts introduced in the webinars it will consider data sources and reliability, how to build a carbon model and how to use the outputs from the model.
Quantification of operational carbon is becoming increasingly important as a means of demonstrating engagement with the net-zero agenda. The workshop will include a hands-on assessment of data sources, reliability and interpretation, followed by a group exercise to calculate estimated comparative carbon footprint of a set of products and delivery processes, and closing with a review of the applications and limitations of the approach.
