Supporting the delivery of high-quality housing in Scunthorpe.

A new future for housing in Scunthorpe has moved a step closer.

In North Lincolnshire, a total of £3.2m has been allocated from the Scunthorpe Towns Fund Programme to support in the delivery of at least 400 new homes.

As part of this housing programme, a grant investment fund of £1m is being created to support with the cost and viability of delivering high quality homes in Scunthorpe, with a primary focus on the town centre and urban core. Funds are available to support schemes which will address one or more of the following measures:

  • Regeneration and redevelopment of a vacant property to bring back into residential use.
  • Conversion of vacant commercial floorspace to residential use (upper floors within the core town centre area)
  • Development of new-build homes

The Council will support high quality development solutions which meet local planning policy objectives and National Design Guide.

Please note primary shopping area can only be considered for above ground floor alterations only.

How much can be applied for?

Grants of up to £300,000 can be awarded to property owners and developers, or £25,000 per dwelling, with a minimum of 50% match funding from the applicant.

Who can apply?

The priority streets for the grant are outlined in purple. Applications within the wider Scunthorpe boundary will also be considered. For further eligibility information please see policy document below.
