Check Change Go Gov.uk

A deal with the EU has been reached and businesses should take action to ensure that their business operations can run smoothly as new rules apply. Businesses should prioritise taking any actions as soon as possible in the new year.

The government has issued guidance on the following:

You can sign yourself up to the Government’s business readiness bulletins, to ensure you receive important updates for your business.

If you move goods into, out of, or through Northern Ireland, ensure you check the latest Northern Ireland Protocol guidance.

Businesses need to ensure they understand the rules of origin for goods moving between the UK and EU, information about this agreement can be found on gov.uk.

If you hire workers from the EU, make sure you are aware of the new requirements, found on gov.uk.

Make sure you know what actions you need to take regarding data protection and data flows with the EU/EEA. Information on this can be found on gov.uk

The government has advised that all non-UK EU citizens must apply for the EU Settlement Scheme to ensure their rights are protected once the transition period is over.

The government has provided translated documents explaining the process in various languages.

If you, your friends, family or neighbours are from the EU, then please apply or advise people to apply to remain in the UK. This affects people from the following places:

  • The European Union
  • Iceland
  • Liechtenstein
  • Norway
  • Switzerland
