Event to attract local businesses, job and training opportunities
North Lincolnshire Council is holding a mid-tender supplier event for companies who have expressed an interest in highways and construction work potentially worth £150m.
The event takes place at the Baths Hall on Thursday 11 October 9.30am until 3pm.
Businesses attending should by now have registered an interest to be on the council's Highways & Construction framework. Those who haven't yet registered can still do so. They have until 26 October and can register at www.yortender.co.uk.
The value of the jobs range from under £100 to up to £10m. There are new Lots for disabled adaptations and roofing works and renewal of general building work, repairs and maintenance, plus road improvement works.
The drop-in style event will give those that have registered the opportunity to:
- Check Constructionline status and discuss Constructionline queries with a knowledgeable representative
- Understand the bidding process
- Ask questions via an enquiry form
There will also be a short presentation, repeated throughout the event that explains the application process.
Those wishing to attend should reserve their place on Eventbrite. You will need to indicate your preferred presentation time - 10am, 11am or 1pm.
It is expected that the council will, through a competitive bidding process, award the contracts in December 2018 ready to start work from April 2019.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said:
This is a great opportunity for local businesses to be in with a chance of securing low, medium or high value contracts to carry out highways and construction work for the council over the next four to six years.
The event on Thursday is for those who have already registered to be on the council's Construction & Highways framework. Though there is still time to register at www.yortender.co.uk.
With work potentially worth £150m on offer, this is not to be sniffed at and those lucky enough to be awarded one or more contracts will be helping bring local jobs and training opportunities.
