North Lincolnshire bids to become an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Find out how extending the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in to North Lincolnshire could benefit your business at an event in Barton on Tuesday 31 March

In North Lincolnshire there are some amazing natural spaces. In recognition of this, North Lincolnshire Council is going to make a submission to Natural England to extend the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in North Lincolnshire.

Taking place at Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre in Barton at 8am, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty event is an opportunity to discover North Lincolnshire Council’s plans and learn more about the submission.

By becoming an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it would open up opportunities for your business, including:

  • Increasing the number of visitors to the area
  • Provide a unique selling point when promoting your business
  • Additional economic development opportunities

Extending the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty into North Lincolnshire would:

  • protect and enhance the quality the landscape – something that is the result of the positive custodianship of generations of people now and before us;
  • strengthen the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty organisation, enhancing its diversity;
  • make sure future development is managed appropriately – more about this will be in the new North Lincolnshire Local Plan; and
  • contribute significantly to the economic development of North Lincolnshire in line with the North Lincolnshire Economic Growth Plan.

An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is an area of countryside that has been designated for conservation due to its significant landscape value.

Refreshments and breakfast will be provided.
