North Lincolnshire UK Community Renewal Fund

The UK government is providing £220 million funding through the UK Community Renewal Fund to help local areas prepare for the launch of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in 2022.

This Fund aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to pilot programmes and new approaches and will invest in skills, community and place, local business, and supporting people into employment.

The UK Community Renewal Fund prospectus sets out how the Fund will operate across the UK.

Investment priorities

Projects may align with one, or deliver across several, of the following investment priorities:

  • Investment in skills Investment for local business
  • Investment in communities and place
  • Supporting people into employment

Applications should reflect the government priorities linked to zero carbon, equalities and the internal UK market.

North Lincolnshire Local Priorities

To support delivery against North Lincolnshire’s Strategic Priorities we are encouraging projects which align with, or meet the aims of, the priorities as set out in:

Funding amounts

90% of funding available through the UK Community Renewal Fund is revenue funding, with a small amount of capital funding. Please note that MHCLG are interested in bids that are either wholly or predominantly revenue based.

The UK Community Renewal Fund prospectus recommends projects are innovative, impactful and deliverable and that the value of individual bids should be in the region of £500,000 where this is possible. All projects should include an allocation of a minimum of £10,000 for evaluation.

Interventions must be financially completed (i.e. all delivery activity concluded) by 31 March 2022 and will be for this year only.

Completed applications need to be submitted to North Lincolnshire Council by 12 noon, 7th May 2021. Applicants will be notified of shortlisting results by 4th June 2021. MHCLG will announce successful projects by late July with funding being distributed soon after.

What is a ‘Lead Authority’?

North Lincolnshire Council has been classed by the UK Government as a ‘Lead Authority’. Lead Authorities will appraise and score all bids via an independent appraisal panel. Those projects receiving the highest scores will be shortlisted and submitted to Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) for final decision and approval.
